Hire and trip-boat certificates.
Self-drive hire and passenger trips need a specialist conversation about the operation and certificate. A leisure policy may not be appropriate.

Describe the operation before asking for a certificate.
Self-drive hire and crewed passenger trips are different uses. Ask a specialist whether they can consider your operation, and what evidence they need. Inland Boat cannot issue a certificate or confirm that a proposed activity is insured.
Who operates the boat?
Prepare the legal operator name, boat name or index, and whether customers take the helm or a crew runs the trip. Explain day hire, overnight hire and passenger trips separately.
Where and how will it operate?
List the waterways, operating season and maximum intended passenger numbers. Ask the specialist to confirm the permitted use and any limits in the policy wording.
What must the certificate say?
Take any wording requested by a navigation authority, venue or contracting organisation to the specialist. Ask them to check the insured name, craft, dates and liability limit. A certificate does not replace the full policy wording.
Insurance and operating permissions
Confirm licences, safety documentation and passenger-operation requirements with the relevant authority. An insurance enquiry does not grant permission to operate.
A commercial category on a provider's website is not proof that it accepts your operation. Ask the insurer or broker directly; Inland Boat does not collect commercial enquiries or issue certificates.
